After a recent DUI arrest put Tiger Woods at risk of losing joint custody of his two young children, the golfer is going back to rehab.
Woods was arrested in Jupiter, Florida on May 29, 2017, after cops found him asleep at the wheel of his banged-up Mercedes-Benz. Humiliating dashcam footage surfaced later, showing Woods was barely able to speak or walk. He later admitted to police that he had taken Xanax earlier in the night and also was on Vicodin.
Sources told Radar Online that Woods’ ex, Elin Nordegren, is ready to pull the plug on their custody agreement, which currently gives him about 20 percent of the week with their two kids, if he doesn’t shape up.
The golf star has reserved the entire male inpatient unit of a rehab center near his Florida home in order to seek treatment for a painkiller addiction. This will be Woods’ second visit to rehab, after a struggle with Vicodin and Ambien sent him there in 2010. He also sought treatment for sex addiction in 2009 after being exposed as an extramarital cheater.
Just days before his arrest, Woods had posted a heartening message on his blog claiming, “It has been just over a month since I underwent fusion surgery on my back, and it is hard to express how much better I feel … I haven’t felt this good in years.”
