Actor Tom Sizemore hit rock bottom several years ago due to his abuse of cocaine, heroin and crystal meth. His downward spiral culminated when he reportedly begged his friend, actor Jack Nicholson for a $10 million loan after losing his $7 million home and resorting to living out of his car.
The 55-year-old Sizemore is best known for his roles in Heat (1995), Saving Private Ryan (1998) and Black Hawk Down (2001) but his career went into a decline starting in 2003 due to problems related to his drug habits.
He was arrested in 2007 for methamphetamine possession and says it took place during the darkest time in his life. The actor stated, “Drugs are a progressive disease, if I do drugs again I go right back to where I was before, I was ineffectual, I could barely get dressed, I was hopeless.”
After turning his life around and being in recovery for nearly four years, Sizemore said, “I’m back, I’m so excited about the future, I’m clean. I was an actor, then I was a drug addict, and now I’m an actor again. I’m a son and a father and I’m [going to] stick there. I’m embracing Act II of my life.”
