At Unity Behavioral Health, it is our goal to make sure that you get the help you need in order to live a clean and sober life. That’s why we will work with both you and your insurance company to make sure that not only you can afford your treatment, but your out of pocket expenses are kept to a minimum.
One of the many insurance companies that we work with is Tricare. If you have Tricare insurance, then you are eligible for the various treatment programs that we offer at little or no cost to you. This includes:
- Inpatient treatment
- Outpatient treatment
- Partial hospitalization
- Neurobehavioral therapy
Below you will find additional information as it pertains to your Tricare insurance plan and the services that we provide.
Does Tricare Insurance Cover Detox Treatment?
Before anyone can begin drug and/or alcohol addiction treatment, the person must first go through detox. Typically lasting anywhere from a few days to a few weeks depending on the severity of the addiction, during the detox process the body will rid itself of whatever substance or substances that it has become addicted to.
Because of the way the body reacts to the detox process, it is very important to undergo detox treatment at either a dedicated detox treatment facility or a medical facility. It is important to detox somewhere that you can be under 24-hour medical supervision. Detoxing on your own can be very dangerous and can even be life-threatening.
Tricare insurance covers several different types of drug and alcohol detox, depending on your policy. It is important to know though that, just because your policy covers detox, it does not mean that the policy covers any and all types of detox. Many plans require that you meet certain criteria for admission to an inpatient detox program. If you have any questions or are unsure if your Tricare plan will cover detox treatment at our facility, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We will work with Tricare to ensure that you get the help you need with as little out of pocket expense as possible.
Will Tricare Cover My Inpatient Treatment?
After completing detox treatment, you would then enter one of the several different treatment programs for addiction. One of those is inpatient treatment. Inpatient treatment, also known as residential treatment, is typically the most popular of the treatment options. It is usually the most universally recommended type of treatment by doctors and other treatment professionals.
During inpatient treatment, you will live at the facility for the duration of treatment. Inpatient care incorporates around the clock medical care along with a variety of therapy sessions including group and individual therapy. Inpatient treatment also provides several services that other treatment programs, like outpatient treatment, don’t, including:
- Wellness and fitness specialists
- Continuing care coordinators
- Financial advocates
- Clinical case managers
While most Tricare plans do cover inpatient treatment, not all do. Additionally, the ones that do usually involve certain requirements to be met. The easiest way to find out if your Tricare plan covers the cost of inpatient treatment at Unity Behavioral Health is to speak to your insurance representative. They can go over with you what needs to be done on your end in order to qualify for treatment.
If you are still unsure, or it is an emergency and you can’t contact your insurance provider, then we can help. We will work with your insurance provider to make sure you get the help you need at a price you can afford. If there are any out of pocket expenses that you will be required to pay, we will make sure to let you know before starting treatment.
What About Outpatient Treatment?
For some people, living at a treatment facility during addiction treatment just isn’t feasible. For some, the everyday commitments that they have, such as school, work, or even family commitments just won’t allow them to enter a treatment facility. For those people or even people who don’t need around the clock monitored care to address their addiction, outpatient treatment is an option.
Outpatient treatment involves many of the same components as inpatient treatment, with the biggest difference being that those participating in outpatient treatment come in for their treatment sessions and then leave when they are finished and return home. Since there is no need for housing during outpatient treatment, the cost tends to be significantly less.
Outpatient treatment is ideal for someone who has a strong support system at home and can return to their regular lives every day without relapsing and using drugs and alcohol again.
Due to the fact that it costs less than inpatient treatment, many insurance companies are more than likely to sign off on outpatient treatment than inpatient treatment. This is also the case for Tricare. If you have questions about outpatient treatment or are curious if it is the right type of treatment for you, contact us today. We will work with you to not only pick out the best treatment option for you, but we will also work with your insurance company to make sure that the out of pocket expenses that you will incur are kept to a minimum if there are any at all.
Does Tricare Cover Any Other Types of Services?
Not everyone that needs treatment falls into the outpatient or inpatient categories. There are those who might be suffering from a mental health issue or even those who suffer from a mental health issue AND a substance abuse issue, also known as a co-occurring disorder.
Does Tricare Cover Mental Health?
Having a mental health disorder can be a scary thing to deal with. Instead of seeing a doctor or trying to get their issue diagnosed, many people will turn to drugs or alcohol as a way to self-medicate. This is a particularly common issue for those who are either currently, or have previously served in the military and are experiencing some form of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Depending on your Tricare plan, you might be fully covered to undergo mental health treatment at Unity Behavioral Health. Before starting treatment we will work with your insurance company to see what is covered and then work with you to address any out of pocket expenses you might have to pay.
Does Tricare Cover Therapy?
Not every treatment option is right for every person. That’s why at Unity Behavioral health we offer alternative treatment options like neurobehavioral therapy.
This alternative type of therapy is done to restore the regulation of neuronal pathways in the brain by identifying abnormalities and creating a precision medicine treatment protocol that is tailored to reset individual brain dysregulation. Neurobehavioral therapy is ideal for those suffering from neurobehavioral disorders such as:
- Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Attention-Deficit Disorder (ADD)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Traumatic Brain Injury
Some Tricare insurance plans cover alternative treatment options, such as neurobehavioral therapy. If you are unsure if your current insurance plan covers this type of therapy, you can reach out to either your insurance provider or even us at Unity Behavioral Health. We work with both you and your insurance company to get you the help you need at a price you can afford.
Does Tricare Cover Only In-Network Facilities?
Most Tricare plans offer coverage for both in-network and out of network facilities. While your plan might cover out of network facilities, it is important to know that if you choose an out of network facility, your out of pocket expenses will be greater.
The good news for you is that Unity Behavioral Health is an in-network treatment facility for all Tricare insurance clients. As an in-network facility, we can offer you the most comprehensive treatment options at the least amount of expense to you. This is because our rates are negotiated with Tricare before you even arrive, allowing you to get the best treatment possible at a price that you can afford.
Are You Looking For Tricare Rehab Centers?
At Unity Behavioral Health, we are proud to take all Tricare insurance plans. Should you have any questions about what treatment options your Tricare plan covers, you can reach out to either your insurance representative or even us. We will answer any questions that you may have and help get you on the road to recovery.
We also know that not all insurance plans cover the cost of treatment in full. That’s why we will work with both you and the insurance company to make sure that you get the treatment you need at a price you can afford, should you have to pay any out of pocket expenses. We know how difficult it can be to undergo drug and alcohol treatment.
You already have enough to worry about and how you are going to pay for treatment shouldn’t be one of them. We want you to focus all of your energy on getting the help you need to live a clean and sober life, we will handle the rest.
